In 2007 the Giant’s Causeway visitor centre received a National Award of Excellence for ‘Best Tour Visit’ by CIE Tours International, for the 5th consecutive year and TripAdvisor announced on 23 June 2008 its inclusion in their Top 10 free attractions in Europe listing.  The Visitors Centre is open all year round except Christmas Day and New Years day. 

The Shop is open is open daily between March and the middle of November, in the interim period the shop will only be open weekends.  The tea room also follows the same opening pattern as the shop.

The Causeway itself can be accessed all year round and it is no uncommon to find people their on Christmas day.

Important Note

The car park and tourist information centre are owned and operated by Moyle District Council - for charges please see the council website.





Dogs are welcomed but we ask that they are kept on the lead at all times,  also owners are asked to be responsible for cleaning any mess left by their animals.

The area is great for school groups, though we recommend you book a tour before you arrive.



Families & Children


There are baby-changing facilities in the centre which can be used during opening hours.  Pushchairs and baby back carriers are also allowed in the centre.





There is a tea-room which offers hot drinks and light refreshments; there are smaller portions available for children.
